Tessa, is in a tie with her sister, for the person who has been in front of my camera for longer than anyone else.
The first few pictures are from the very first time I shot her in Chicago with her sister Jori. She was so tiny, & now she’s taller than me. I’ve watched her grow up and documented the entire journey.
My classroom, when I taught, was right down the hall from her mother’s room. This shoot had a lot of importance to me. It’s really like shooting family.
All the years ago, with tiny balloons and little heart winter caps. Time never really sits still, but pictures help us to put everything into perspective.
The last few shots are something I’ve never done before on a senior shoot. I decided to take some edgy direct flash pictures of her. She plans on being involved in the sports world, perhaps broadcasting one day. I just wanted to give her something that felt cool, modern.
